Who is Healthy Home Resources?
A dedicated, conscientious, and hardworking nonprofit team concerned with the risks posed by indoor environmental hazards.
In 1997 the small lead poison prevention organization known as PBX was created to address the health risks associated with lead poisoning, especially in young children. PbX served the Greater Pittsburgh area in conjunction with the Lead Safe Pittsburgh program for several years. As awareness of the organization grew, so did the organization’s awareness of other environmental hazards in the home. In 2003, PbX underwent a makeover and was re-established as Healthy Home Resources. Healthy Home Resources has expanded its mission to address other critical in-home threats to human health such as asthma triggers, indoor air quality, household chemicals, lead-based paint, and risks to personal safety. Healthy Home Resources is the only environmental health organization in Allegheny County that equips individuals and families with the knowledge, support and tools needed to reduce exposure to indoor environmental hazards.
Mission
Healthy Home Resources is a non-profit, community service organization focused on reducing and eliminating in-home environmental hazards. With concentration on families and children, Healthy Home Resources specializes in reaching at-risk households through one-on-one, community and agency based, integrated outreach programming. Healthy Home Resources is committed to providing the education and tools to families so that they can make informed choices about their household environment and continue to strive to wards a home free of environmental hazards.

Healthy Home Resources strives to be the leading provider of education, awareness and tools for families coping with harmful in-home environmental hazards.
Efforts by Healthy Home Resources in outreach and intervention position the organization as regional experts, influencing awareness, and action for years to come. Healthy Home Resources is committed to long-term strategies that focus on;

Healthy Home Resources is an organization with a mission to provide resources - resources that create a home free of environmental hazards. For over ten years, as a non-profit social service organization, Healthy Home Resources continues being devoted to aiding the communities of the Greater Pittsburgh area and Allegheny County. Through ongoing education and constant awareness, the staff of Healthy Home Resources seeks to share their knowledge with those that are in need. With education designed specifically for parents as well as children, Healthy Home Resources is able to present a better understanding of the risks and remedies of in-door environmental hazards for all the members of a family.

Working with compatible agencies is Southwestern Pennsylvania, including housing providers, childcare agencies, and health-care organizations, Healthy Home Resources has successfully launched a number of in-home environmental hazard programs offering in-home assessments, services, remediation and education. Following the old adage of "What get's measured get's results", Healthy Home Resources takes careful measurements of in-door environmental quality markers before and after to demonstrate not only to our grantees the results we generate, but to give a peace of mind to all our clients that our methods have been effective.

Healthy Home Resources forms beneficial partnerships with organizations who similar goals goal so that we are able to offer a wider array of services to our clients.
