Childhood Injuries

What is childhood injury?

It is any injury that is severe enough to require medical attention, missed school, and/or bed rest. Hazards that cause injuries can be found all around the home. They are things like:
  • Sharp objects,
  • Matches,
  • Appliances and electrical gadgets,
  • Long or frayed electrical cords,
  • Toxic chemicals and cleaning supplies,
  • Some plants that are poisonous,
  • Coins or small items that can be choked on,
  • An improperly cared for bathtub
Did you know: Injuries claim the lives of more children than all childhood diseases combined.
